About Me

Hello, thank you for your interest in the Junior Golf Programs! I'm Erica Haney, Director of Junior Golf & Instructor at Falcon Crest Golf Club.

Recently for the year 2013 I was recognized as an Honorable Mention Top 50 U.S. Kids Golf Teacher! I also received this award for the 2012 year. I am honored to have been selected two years in a row as one of the top 100 Leaders of Junior Golf in the world & to share this with you.

I am very passionate about golf and that passion led me to become a teaching professional after 18 years of competitive golf (I started at age 5). In the last 5 years of teaching, my focus has been driven towards junior instruction and junior golf.

I am a creative person and what I have found is there are so many creative things I

can do for junior golf. In 2010 when I began working at Boise Ranch, I began to create & implement my various Junior Programs. This year I am still offering those programs and I have accepted an offer from Nike to host their Junior Golf Camps and with the PGA to build a team of junior golfers for the PGA Junior League.

This will be my 2nd year at Falcon Crest, where I moved my junior affairs and home-base. I am excited to be at Falcon Crest as the huge facility allows me to run my programs creatively, and there is ample room for those programs which have grown and continue to grow. Falcon Crest features 3 golf courses and Idaho's premier practice facility, and did I mention how professional and peaceful the environment is?

Junior golf is important to me because the junior programs I had the opportunity to be a part of when I was a child were very instrumental in my life. I played in the Caldwell Junior Golf Association and during that time my mom was president of the junior association. I also competed in IGA Juniors & competed regionally and qualified for many junior tournaments including Junior Worlds, the Trusted Choice Big "I" National Championship, the Westfield Junior PGA Championship, and played on Idaho's Junior America's Cup Team. As a high-school athlete our team won State both my Junior and Senior Year.

My competitive background in golf allows me to train and prepare juniors who have serious goals. I also love to help juniors & their families map out a tournament schedule for the summer that will boost their chances of obtaining a golf scholarship.

After I graduated high-school I was fortunate to play collegiate golf on a scholarship at Boise State and Sacramento State. After college I became a professional golfer and am now pursuing what I love and am passionate about.

I want to give a shout-out to all the parents, juniors and supporters of junior golf in our community! We have the opportunity to grow the game of golf among the youth in our community - let's do it!
