SUMMER JUNIOR GOLF!

Many exciting programs are in place for junior golf! A Junior League, Junior Golf Academy, Junior Clinics, and Junior Camps are available.

The Junior League is designed to give young players the opportunity to play on the golf course in a fun and competitive environment, while learning rules, course etiquette, and good sportsmanship. If the juniors are new to golf, it is recommended to take lessons or attend clinics or the academy in conjunction with league. For high school golfers, the league is a great opportunity to keep playing and improve before next season. Age divisions range between 4 and 18 years old.

Junior League will take place Wednesday mornings at 8am and Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm. Juniors do not have to attend every league day, and can come in the morning or evening. Based on their ability, they will play 3, 5, or 9 holes from different sets of junior and adult tees.

The junior league membership fee is $40 for new members and $20 for returning members. Juniors will receive a $25 gift certificate for clubs, an unlimited range card for the summer and reduced rates for playing privileges outside of the scheduled league days.

There are 8 league days, and each league day is $10.00 if signing up weekly, or $65.00 to sign up in advance for all days. Wednesday, June 15 there is a free clinic and two registration times. If you cannot make these times to register, please contact Erica Haney.

The Spring Junior Golf Academy is designed to give juniors the correct tools to become successful golfers in an enjoyable and exciting atmosphere that fosters learning. Instruction given by PGA teaching professional Erica Haney. It is a 6-week program; choose the day and time that best suits your schedule and attend the same grouping for 6 weeks. The slots to pick from are attached. The number per class is limited (4 students), so sign up soon to reserve your spot.
As a member of the Junior League association, discounted rates are applicable.

When you see the new tees on the course you will know that you are a contributor to this great asset for our junior golfers.

The PGA Family Course Program:
  • Makes golf more enjoyable for players new to game
  • Establishes a beginner-friendly short course within any existing golf facility
  • Provides a simple transition as each player’s ability increases
  • Enables players of varying abilities to shoot similar scores
  • Encourages parents and kids to play golf together

The junior course will be complete with a scorecard for the juniors with the distances on each hole. The junior course can have it's own name, and if you have an idea please share it. Some ideas are that spin off Boise Ranch GC are: Little Ranch GC, Little Broncos GC, & Spotted Cow GC

Spring Junior Golf Program

With the success of the Fall Junior Golf Program, we are looking forward to the Spring Junior League.
Once again there will be a Junior Golf Academy as well as Junior Clinics.

The Junior League is designed to give young players the opportunity to play on the golf course in a fun and competitive environment, while learning basic rules, course etiquette, and good sportsmanship. Junior League will take place Friday evenings. Juniors can sign up for the days they would like to participate on, and how many holes they would like to play based on their level (3, 5, or 9 holes). We can help determine how many holes are appropriate for each individual junior to play.

We encourage beginning juniors to also participate as they can play 3 holes, in a less competitive format, build new friendships with other juniors, and realize golf is a fun lifetime sport. For those who are new golfers or very young, the three holes will be set up from a few yards off the green. We feel it is best for juniors to learn from the green out.

The junior league membership fee is $40, includes a tee prize, a $25 gift certificate for junior clubs, 10% off private lessons, a range card for the spring and reduced rates for playing privileges outside of the scheduled league days. Each league day they would like to participate in will be $10.00, collected in advance for the days they sign up for, or weekly (a week before each event). We ask that parents volunteer some dates to walk along with a group and assist in keeping score.

As a member of the Junior League, the junior will be able to participate in the Parent-Junior scramble (parents can be substituted for a grandparent, relative, or family friend), and the Spring Junior Club Championship.

The Spring Junior Golf Academy is an after-school program designed to give juniors the correct tools to become successful golfers in an enjoyable and exciting atmosphere that fosters learning. Instruction given by PGA teaching professional Erica Haney. It is an 6-week program, where you choose the night and time that best suits your schedule and attend the same grouping 6 weeks. The slots to pick from are attached. The number per class is limited, so sign up soon.
As a member of the Junior League association, discounted rates are applicable.

A sample of topics covered: putting, short game – chipping & pitching, full swing – with irons & woods, driving, on course playing, and rules & etiquette.
